Having trained at art schools in London, Eileen Mayo came to Aotearoa New Zealand in the early 1960s. An artist of great skill and observation, with a deep love of nature, she produced paintings, wood engravings, linocuts, lithographs, book illustrations, stamp designs and more. Mayo taught at the Ilam School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury, and exhibited widely throughout the country. Her work is held in major collections in New Zealand and around the world.
