Not Just A Teacher is a poetic tribute to educators everywhere.
It acknowledges the diverse roles which teachers are called upon to fulfill by comparing teaching with aspects of other occupations (from plumbing to politics), expressing the realities of everyday teacher life.
Each page is a reflection of what being a teacher entails for those of us who choose this often crazy career. Some might make you laugh, some might make you cry.
This book is sure to be relished and cherished by everyone who has ever been a part of the teaching profession, as well as those who appreciate the enormously meaningful contribution that teachers make to society.
It would be the perfect graduation / registration / retirement / birthday / farewell / end of year / Christmas present for any teacher.
About the Author
Teaching is the last thing Taranga Kent ever thought she would do when she left school to work in an office. A chance meeting with a teacher trainee at her child's school Christmas party years later inspired her to give it a go. She now has over two decades of teaching behind her. Taranga began to write for pure enjoyment, with thoughts most often coming to her as she lay in bed waiting for sleep to come. These late night efforts would end up on scraps of paper in a drawer with no intention of them ever being seen by anyone else. Joining a local writers' group and receiving positive feedback on her work from others led her to consider getting published as a realistic possibility. Not Just A Teacher is the long-awaited result.
