Copper Point Rock Climbs

Copper Point is the local name for the truncated base of the North Ridge of Mitre Peak in Milford Sound. Logistics can be a little tricky but the effort is rewarded by some of the most spectacular climbing anywhere: vertical walls up to 200m high with a massive capping overhang, with slabs on the west side. Add a sheltered camping spot, water that sometimes sparkles with phosphorescence, and great potential for fresh fish cooked over the fire and you have a truly unique and magical spot.
