Georgie Silk is a Pakeha poet, theatre maker and mental health counsellor based in Tamaki Makaurau. After graduating high school, she trained as an actor. Her creative pursuits have led her to create theatre productions at Q Theatre, Basement Theatre and BATS Theatre. As a dyslexic, it took her some time to find joy in writing. Georgie holds a Masters degree in Counselling (First Class Honours), where she researched the benefits of creative mediums to overcome mental illness and distress. Peel is her debut poetry collection. On the weekends, she will be in a dance studio or swimming in the moana. She is the nominated dessert baker among her friend groups, a recent favourite was a marshmallow chocolate pie.
