This mammoth 500 pages book chronologically traces the 30-year journey of Otahuhu based Falepipi he Mafola Niuean Handcraft Group Inc. (Falepipi he Mafola Group), through projects and treasures made by the collective minds, hearts and hands of past and present members. Honouring the memory of over 50 cherished individuals who have passed on, as well as celebrating the wealth of knowledge, skills, and wisdom of current living treasures, this publication is a testament to the enduring spirit of Niuean culture.

Established on 1 April 1993 by founding members from Niue villages of Tuapa Uhomotu, Alofi, and Namukulu, the Falepipi he Mafola Group was created to provide a nurturing space for elders and their families, fostering wellbeing, independence, and the preservation of Niuean identity in Aotearoa. They gather at the Otahuhu Town Hall Community Centre every Thursday in Tamaki Makaurau, since its inception, and play a pivotal role in maintaining and safeguarding the knowledge, traditions and practices of Niuean culture and heritage in Aotearoa.
