The 1970s saw unprecedented numbers of people take to the streets to campaign for civil liberties, environmental issues, gay rights, housing, Māori land and language, peace, women's rights, worker's wages and conditions — and to end apartheid, racism and war. This book began life as an exhibition of 1970s protest photographs held in Wellington in 2023 to launch the online archive of these photos. It salutes the people whose radical actions changes Aotearoa's political landscape forever… and reminds us there is still a lot to be done. Featuring photographs from Hilary Watson, Ans Westra CNZM, John M. Miller, Keith Stewart, Ron Hazlehurst and many others.
