The 16 road-trips cover from Northland right down to Stewart Island. Includes: Maps, suggested travel routes and interesting detours along the way. More than just a guidebook, this book showcases the best spots to see (and hear) New Zealand's nature. Parkinson explains how (often foolhardy) decisions through the years have shaped, scarred or destroyed New Zealand's natural environments and the unique creatures that live within them. He also highlights positive projects that have been created over the years to try and minimise this damage or to help the environment thrive. Note: This book was originally published as The Travelling Naturalist in 1989, and has been OP for many years. This title is completely updated.
