Ready for summer, Salt: Coastal Connections celebrates New Zealand's coastline with 160 pages of breath-taking and evocative B & W photography. Accompanied by lucid and lively poems by Terry Fitzgibbon, Salt revels in the wonder of our coastline. As an island nation, the coastline is our moat, our pantry, and always our playground. The combination of poetry and photography superbly captures the essence of beach life across Aotearoa. From whales, dolphins, seals, and seabirds in their natural habitat to families having fun on the sand. Images looking out to sea and of surfers riding the perfect wave back to shore. In Kim Westerskov's foreword, he writes about Terry's poems that they are: Meticulously crafted, heartfelt love letters to the sea, to his loves, and to a life well-lived. Kim Westerskov has won five first prizes in the BBC/Natural History Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition the Olympics of nature photography. Terry Fitzgibbon is an award-winning illustrator, author, photographer, and designer with over 20 books to his credit. Terry's love for the ocean runs like a rip tide through Salt: Coastal Connections, and while he urges us to enjoy the ocean, he hopes we'll become its custodians too. This is Terry's first book of poetry.
