One of the local boys has arrived home telling of a frightening woman who attacked him in the local forest, throwing balls of fire. From his description Nan thinks she knows who it might be and her moko can see it frightens her. Understandably they are not eager to go with her when she says she must go to the forest to find this woman
About the Author
Tim Waitai-Tipene, (Ngāti Kuri/Ngāti Whatua) – was adopted into the Waitai-Tipene whanau as a toddler. He was raised in two cultures, NZ Māori and NZ European. First published in 1996 Tim is now the author of more than thirteen books, five of which have won awards.
