Manu Pango (Blackbird) is in a panic. His friend and protector, This Dog (Ko Tenei Kuri), is missing and his nemesis, Tera Ngeru (That Cat), is on the prowl. Using a simple bilingual English/Maori text, "Where Is This Dog? - Kei hea Tenei Kuri?" speaks to children about loss, fear and happy outcomes. Rebecca Utting's fun illustrations bring Ian Munro's story to life in authentic kiwi settings. Piripi Walker's literal translation keeps the words simple and clear, so each sentence flows when delivered aloud. Where is This Dog that is my dog? Kei hea Tenei Kuri, ara, taku kuri?
