Five literary festivals in Aotearoa this Autumn

Here, in chronological order, are five incredible festivals, happening around Aotearoa this Autumn. Take a look, circle the dates in your diary (or just keep an eye on the Kete calendar), and book tickets!

**Womad World of Words**15-17 March

For three days, some of the world’s best musicians, artists, dancers, storytellers and speakers come to Taranaki, including a fine line-up from Aotearoa, including Kate Evans, Monty Soutar and Nick Bollinger.

Aspiring Conversations — Festival of Ideas and Kōrero4-7 April

In the wake of two cancelled programmes the 2024 Aspiring Conversations programme is packed with brilliant writers from Sam Low to Victoria Bruce, discussion topics (AI versus librarians, anyone?) to conversations with inspiring wāhine and so much more.

**Between the lines — Central Hawkes Bay Writers Festival**11-14 April

The Between the Lines lineup is announced tomorrow! Featuring fabulous guest speakers including NZ authors, journalists, culinary masters and screen writers, and some unique and intimate venues.

**Featherston Booktown Karukatea Festival**Young readers programme 8-10 May; Festival weekend 10-12 May

**Auckland Writers Festival**14-19 May

The programme announcement for the biggest of all Aotearoa’s literary festivals is scheduled for 13 March … keep an eye on the festival website (the 2024 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards will be announced as part of the festival — the shortlist is out next Wednesday but for the time being read up on the longlist here)!
