Crime writer Michael Bennett on tour

The tour presents a fantastic opportunity for readers to spend an intimate evening with two writers at the top of their game, and hear about the process of creating two such psychologically compelling detectives. Michael and Dervla will also appear as part of the Auckland Writers Festival lineup later that week.

Dervla McTiernan is an Irish writer, now based in Perth, whose books have sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Her new release The Unquiet Grave is the much-anticipated new novel in the Cormac Reilly series. Her two standalone thrillers each won the New York Times Best Thriller Award, and are both in development for screen.

Michael Bennett (Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Whakaue) is an author and filmmaker based in Tāmaki Makarau. He has devoted his career to examining questions of social and racial justice, and his latest thriller, Carved in Blood, concludes his award-winning Hana Westerman trilogy. TVNZ recently announced a six-part miniseries, scheduled for release in 2026.
